Privacy Policy

Muyo LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates a variety of mobile applications designed to support learning, creativity, and personal growth. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information across all Muyo LLC apps, including but not limited to:

• Duoshuo 多说 – a language learning and speech practice app
• Murmur 轻倾 – a motivational quote and image editing app

By using our apps or website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Our apps are designed to minimize data collection. We only access device features necessary to provide functionality, with your permission.

a. Microphone Access (Duoshuo)

• Used when you record speech for pronunciation practice.
• When you submit a recording for scoring, your audio is sent securely from the app to our servers, converted to a compatible format there if needed, and then transmitted to Microsoft Azure Speech Services so pronunciation scores and feedback can be generated. Azure processes this audio under Microsoft’s privacy terms (see Section 5).
• Our servers generally handle that audio only to complete the scoring request and do not keep a persistent copy for replay or unrelated use. Recognition text and scores returned from Azure may be used to display feedback in the app; how long any related app data persists depends on features you use.

b. Internet Access (Duoshuo, Murmur)

• Used to connect with Azure Speech Service for pronunciation scoring. (Duoshuo)
• Used to retrieve motivational quotes and content from Google Firestore database. (Murmur)

d. App Usage and Analytics

• We may use anonymous analytics (e.g., Google Firebase) to understand general app performance and crashes.
• These analytics do not identify you personally and help us improve stability and user experience.

e. Device Information (standard)

• When analytics are enabled, they may include non-identifiable data such as device model, operating system, app version, and performance metrics.

f. AI-assisted custom lessons (Duoshuo)

• When you choose to generate a custom dialogue, you send us the topic or scenario text you enter, your learning and display language settings, and—if your subscription or plan includes personalization—your selected lesson interests and a short summary derived from your recent pronunciation practice (for example words you practiced or that received lower scores).
• We transmit this information from our servers to one or more third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI, LLC and/or Google LLC, for example via the Gemini API, depending on configuration) solely to produce dialogue text, translations, segmentation, or related instructional content for that feature.
• Those providers process the content as subprocessors according to their own privacy policies (linked below). We do not sell this content; we use it only to operate the requested feature.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Operate and improve app functionality.
• Provide speech scoring or image customization features.
• Diagnose and fix technical issues.
• Communicate app updates or important notices.

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data.

3. Data Storage and Security

• We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
• If cloud services are used (e.g., Azure or Firebase), data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• No personally identifiable information is retained longer than necessary.

4. Children's Privacy

• Our apps are intended for general audiences.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years old.
• If you believe your child has provided such data, please contact us, and we'll delete it promptly.

5. Third-Party Services

Our apps may include third-party SDKs or APIs that operate under their own privacy terms. We select vendors that provide protections for personal information that are the same or substantially similar to the commitments described in this Privacy Policy for the categories of data we share with them, and we use their services only as needed to deliver the features you use.

6. Your Choices

You can:

• Decline microphone or photo permissions in your device settings.
• Delete the app at any time to remove all locally stored data.
• Contact us to request deletion of any data that may have been temporarily processed for scoring or analytics.

Duoshuo 多说 - Language Learning App

Permissions Used:

• Microphone: Required for speech practice and pronunciation feedback
• Internet: To connect with Azure Speech Service for pronunciation scoring
• Storage: To save learning progress locally

Data Handling:

• Audio recordings are processed for pronunciation analysis via Microsoft Azure Speech; see Section 5 for Microsoft’s privacy statement.
• We do not use your voice recordings to train unrelated third-party models; they are processed to provide pronunciation feedback.
• If you generate custom dialogues, your topic text and related inputs may be processed by OpenAI and/or Google as described in Section 1(f).
• Learning progress is saved locally on your device

7. Changes to This Policy

• We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
• Revisions will be posted with a new "Effective Date."
• Your continued use of our apps after such updates means you accept the changes.
